Have you heard? There’s a new press in town. Belle Point Press celebrates literary culture and community in the American Mid-South, and it’s located right here in Fort Smith, AR! Join us as we celebrate their first Mid/South Anthology featuring writers all over the region. Two of Fort Smith’s own are included and will be joining the discussion.
Heather Dobbins is a native of Memphis, Tennessee. She is the author of two poetry collections, In the Low Houses (2014) and River Mouth (2017), both from Kelsay Press. Her flash fiction and poems have been published in Beloit Poetry Journal, Book of Matches, Channel, and Women’s Studies Quarterly, among others. Christian Anton Gerard is the author of Holdfast (C&R Press) and Wilmot Here, Collect for Stella (WordTech). He’s received Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference scholarships and the Iron Horse Literary Review’s Discovered Voices Award. His work appears in places such as The Rumpus, Post Road, The Adroit Journal, Diode, Ruminate, and Tupelo Quarterly. Gerard is an associate professor in the creative writing program at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith.
